{DIY} Pirate Birthday Party + FREE Pirate Party Printables

My little Noah turned 5 years old. My sweet, sweet first born…is now FIVE YEARS OLD. Wow, that went by FAST!

The idea for the pirate birthday theme came from Noah. Shortly after his 4th birthday party was over he told me, “Mom, next year I want to have a Pirate Party!” I was not a big fan of the idea so I didn’t say much then (I figured by the time his 5th birthday rolled around he would have wanted something different). NOPE! I was wrong. He never forgot about it. He never changed his mind. He was set on having a Pirate Party. So, sure enough…Noah had a PIRATE PARRR-TY!

I guess I was hesitant toward the pirate theme because I didn’t want the entire party to be skulls and crossbones. I wanted a softer pirate side, if that’s possible 🙂 After doing my Pintrest research on pirate parties, I thought that we could pull it off by focusing on fun food items, gold & brown accents & ship décor!

I had to be creative with my décor and because I am so picky with things, I decided to just make most of the stuff myself. This party ended up being EXTRA special to me because this is the first time that I created all the printed décor for the party. Yes the banners, the cupcake picks, the food labels, the party favor tags, even the invitations…all by myself!! And I am so, so, so excited to have them on my blog for you to use & enjoy for free. Check out the downloads here.

Since this is a DIY Party it did require a lot of time (especially because I created all the documents for the decorations. That took a LOT of time). Even though I am a stay at home mom that doesn’t mean that I have all this extra time on my hands {Some people ask me about that} Like most people, I really don’t. For example, I’m writing this post now at 11pm while my husband and children are in bed. But, party crafting is something that brings me joy, my kids joy & I love putting it all together! AND…the end result is so worth it.

Plus, I knew that I wanted to be able to share my party décor with you all for free on my blog. Decorations can get expensive & creating them DIY take a long time! I did the hard work for you. So please, please use them!

After a few weeks of crafting & creating (when I was able), it all came together & ended up being really cute. Noah was so excited about it all & LOVED the setup! He felt like the Captain that day!

Check out my post Free Pirate Party Printables to download Pirate Party Banners, Cupcake Picks, Invites, Food Labels & Favor Tags….all for FREE! But WAIT!!..you have to check out the party pics first 🙂
